Thinking Of Buying

Let me help you with your Real Estate needs.  Here are a few tips to consider in preparation of purchasing a home.

  1. Make yourself a wish list.  Decide what features are essential, extras, and which are undesirable.   Be as specific as possible with a realistic attitude that every purchase is a compromise.
  2. Chose a Real Estate Professional that you trust and one that listens to your needs, likes and dislikes.

  3. Check your Credit Rating - it's wise to double-check at the outset. Straightening out any errors or disputed items now will avoid troublesome holdups down the road when you're waiting for mortgage approval.

  4. PrequalificationBefore you begin your search for the perfect house let your real estate professional, mortgage broker or lender counselor help "pre-qualify" you for a mortgage. This process includes analyzing your income, assets and present debt to estimate how much house you can afford.

  5. Pre-approval on a mortgage means that you've visited your lender and have in writing their commitment to loan you money for a house purchase subject to passing the lender's appraisal.  Having a pre-approval makes you a stronger buyer in the eyes of the seller.

  6. Home Inspection - Once making an offer on a home have a home inspection preformed by an independent authorized inspector. If problems are found, you may want to negotiate with the seller to lower the price, or to pay for certain repairs.

  7. Appraisal - Your lender will require you to get an appraisal of the house you want to buy, to make sure it is worth the money that you are borrowing. You may select your own appraiser, or your real estate broker can help you with this task.

  8. Homeowners Insurance - Be sure to shop and compare for insurance that fits your needs.

  9. Settlement or Closing - When you are ready for the closing. Be sure to read everything before you sign! Usually your real estate broker with accompany you and some people also like to have their attorney present  ensure that all is in order.
